Best Foot Forward for Pedestrian Safety is a community-wide coalition launched May 30, 2012, to reduce pedestrian deaths and injuries in Metro Orlando. This effort combined engineering, enforcement, and education to fundamentally change the behaviors of both drivers and pedestrians. Between 2012 and 2020, as a direct result of the campaign, driver behavior shifted significantly, with statistics showing a 10 percent increase in yielding for pedestrians in crosswalks.
